For businesses in Trinidad & Tobago

Your books should open doors, not keep them shut.

Too many good local businesses get turned down for financing, contracts and grants, not because the business is weak, but because the paperwork could not prove it was strong. We fix that, month after month, for a fee you can plan around.

Why this matters

The wall between a good business and a bigger one

It is rarely talent. It is almost always documentation.

Recognition

This may sound familiar

  • You have real customers, real revenue and real momentum
  • The bank still asked for financials you could not produce
  • The contract needed audited statements you did not have
  • Your records live in a shoebox, a spreadsheet and your head
The barrier

It is the system, not you

  • Proper accounting has been priced for large companies
  • Without structured records, institutions default to no
  • Late filings quietly build penalties and interest
  • By the time you need clean books, it is already too late
The way through

Financial credibility, monthly

  • A fixed monthly fee that fits a small-business budget
  • Statements a lender or investor will accept at face value
  • BIR compliance that builds a track record over time
  • Numbers you can actually use to make a decision
What we do

Everything your business needs on the finance side

Take one service or the whole set. Most clients start with bookkeeping and compliance, then add advisory once the numbers are clean enough to act on.

Bookkeeping & monthly accounts

Your transactions recorded properly, your accounts reconciled, and a set of management accounts every month instead of a panic every year.

  • Bank and cash reconciliations
  • Sales, purchases and expense recording
  • Monthly profit & loss and balance sheet

Tax & statutory compliance

Registrations, returns and remittances handled on schedule, so penalties and interest stop being a line item in your business.

  • BIR registration and VAT returns
  • Corporation tax returns and quarterly instalments
  • Green Fund Levy and Business Levy

Payroll

Staff paid correctly and on time, with every statutory deduction calculated, remitted and documented.

  • PAYE and Health Surcharge
  • National Insurance (NIS) contributions
  • Payslips, TD4s and year-end returns

CFO advisory & cash flow

The strategic layer: where the money is actually going, what it costs to serve each customer, and whether you can afford the next move.

  • Cash flow forecasting and budgets
  • Pricing and margin analysis
  • Loan applications and lender packs

Company formation & registration

Start on solid ground, or bring an existing company back into good standing with the Registrar.

  • Company incorporation and registration
  • Annual returns to the Registrar of Companies
  • Statutory registers and filings

Audit & financing preparation

Get your file into the state an auditor, a bank or a grant committee expects before they ask for it.

  • Year-end file and working papers
  • Schedules and supporting reconciliations
  • Liaison with your auditor or lender
Compliance calendar

The dates that quietly cost businesses money

Most penalties are not the result of bad intentions. They are the result of a deadline that passed while everyone was busy running the business.

When you work with us, this calendar stops being your problem. We track it, prepare it and file it, and you hear from us before a date, not after it.

BIR VAT PAYE NIS Health Surcharge Green Fund Levy Business Levy Registrar of Companies
Monthly

PAYE, Health Surcharge & NIS

Employee deductions are calculated, remitted to the Board of Inland Revenue and the National Insurance Board, and reconciled back to your payroll register.

Every two months

VAT returns

If your commercial supplies pass the registration threshold, VAT is filed on a bi-monthly cycle. We prepare the return, reconcile it to your books and file it on time.

Quarterly

Corporation tax instalments, Green Fund & Business Levy

Instalments fall due at the end of March, June, September and December. We calculate what is payable and make sure it is scheduled, not scrambled.

30 April

Annual tax returns

Company and individual income tax returns are due. Because your books have been closed monthly all year, this becomes a review rather than a reconstruction.

Annually

Annual return to the Registrar

Your company filing is kept current so your good standing never becomes an obstacle in the middle of a deal or a loan application.

This calendar is a general summary for planning purposes and is not tax advice. Filing frequencies, thresholds and due dates depend on your registration status and can change, so we confirm the requirements that apply to your business as part of onboarding.

Packages

One monthly fee. No surprise invoices.

We do not bill by the hour. You should never hesitate to call your accountant because of what the question might cost. Every package is quoted on your actual volume and complexity.

Books behind? That is quoted separately, and honestly.

If you have months or years of catching up to do, we price the cleanup as a one-time piece of work based on how far back it goes, so your ongoing monthly fee is not inflated by a service you are only paying for once.

Who we work with

Local, and it matters

An accountant you can actually reach

We are based in Port-of-Spain, we work with businesses across Trinidad and Tobago, and we understand the practical realities: how long a registration really takes, what a local bank wants to see before it says yes, and which deadlines have no forgiveness in them.

You get a named person, a phone number that is answered, and the same firm that serves companies in New York and Toronto applying that standard here.

Clean books are not paperwork. They are the difference between being told no and being taken seriously, and every business here deserves that chance.

Questions

What local business owners ask us

This is one of the most common conversations we have, and it is far more fixable than most people fear. We start by establishing exactly where you stand, then work through the backlog in order and bring your filings current. Dealing with it deliberately almost always ends better than waiting for it to surface on its own.

VAT registration becomes mandatory once your commercial supplies exceed the threshold set by the Board of Inland Revenue over a twelve-month period, and voluntary registration is possible below it. Whether it helps or hurts depends on who your customers are and how much VAT you pay on inputs. We will look at your actual numbers and tell you which side of that line you belong on.

No, and that is deliberate. We prepare your books, your statements and your year-end file, and we work alongside your auditor rather than replacing them. Where an audit is required, having your file properly prepared beforehand makes it faster and cheaper.

Your fee is built from real drivers: how many transactions you process, how many bank accounts you hold, how many staff are on payroll, how many entities you run and whether you are VAT-registered. You get one fixed monthly figure before you commit to anything, and we do not bill by the hour.

Not necessarily. We work in QuickBooks, Xero and Sage, and we can work with spreadsheets while we transition you onto something more durable. If a change genuinely would help, we will explain why and handle the migration, but we will not move you just to move you.

We cannot approve a loan, but we can make sure you walk in with what gets loans approved: reconciled financial statements, current filings, a cash flow forecast that holds up to questions, and a clear explanation of what the money is for and how it gets repaid.
